Adriana found found Yoga in 2015. After spending many years immersed in the fitness world teaching barre and spin class she developed a fascination with the way the body moves and finding a connection with movement and breath. After taking her first yoga class she was immediately drawn to the connection she was able to make with the body, mind, and breath. Adriana completed her 200-hour yoga certification in 2016 with YogaWorks in Walnut Creek under the training of Melanie Salvatore-August and Mynx Inatsugu. As her home practice continues to evolve she feels honored to have the opportunity to guide others on their mat. She loves that Yoga is truly for every body.
Alyssa loves sharing yoga. After a two year immersion in the hot yoga scene in 2002, Alyssa was soon drawn to deepen her practice & began to study yoga with Ben Thomas (a Senior Certified Iyengar instructor) in Pacifica. In 2008, she took a Street Yoga Teacher Training & in 2012 Alyssa graduated from the Yoga To the People-SF with her 200-hour yoga certification. Alyssa is an ERYT-200 Certified Yoga Teacher. Presently she continues her yoga studies with Shiva Rea. In her classes, Alyssa creates environments for cultivation of determination, patience, confidence, strength, flexibility and inner wisdom. Her teaching style is dynamic and fluid–she meets her students where they are. Yoga practice is rooted in breath and all of her classes integrate greater awareness of breathe and body alignment both in stillness, and in dynamic movement. Favorite classes to share include vinyasa, hatha yoga, gentle yoga, meditation & sukshma viyayama classes.
Amy started practicing yoga in 1985 when she found "Lilias' Yoga and You" on PBS. At that point a fire was kindled inside of her that's only grown with the years. In 2001, she took her enjoyment of teaching as an elementary educator and her love of yoga and brought them together to open a studio. She closed her studio in 2009 to devote her attentions to her growing family, yet continued teaching a few classes to fuel her passion. Amy has studied extensively with Tias Little, with whom she received her 200-hour yoga certification. Her background is in Ashtanga, infused with many other styles. She is trained in prenatal yoga, yoga for Parkinson's, and yoga for scoliosis. She looks forward to being and working with you in class!
Asha embraced yoga in the year 2000 while living in the Kundalini Yoga Ashram, a meditation center in Texas, where she lived and studied for eight years. There she implemented yoga and meditation into a daily practice and cultivated a deep sense of spiritual awareness as a student of shamanism and eastern religions. Asha completed her 200-hour yoga certification in Arizona in 2010. She also has a background as a Pilates and group fitness instructor. She fosters integrity, openness, sincerity and a passion for living a congruent and integrated life. She has traveled extensively and has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu. She is currently training for two open water marathon swims – Catalina Island to Los Angeles and England to France – both 21 miles. Asha is a devoted wife, mom and bonus-mom, she loves honesty, raw living foods, non-violence, juicing, hiking, traveling, long-distance swimming and of course … yoga.
Christina started practicing yoga in 2006 as a way to manage stress, while studying for her degree in Behavioral Science and Sociology and fell in love with the practice. After trying out every style of yoga and yoga studio she came across, she wanted to deepen her practice and received her 200 hour Alignment Based Vinyasa Teacher Training with Ekaette Ekong at Yogaworks. Truly believing that everyone can and should practice yoga, Christina intends for her classes to be playful, lighthearted, challenging, and therapeutic. Christina loves incorporating pranayama, chanting, and meditation into her asana classes. Christina was trained and received her Kids yoga certification with Michelle Wing at It’s Yoga Kids. Christina is passionate about childrens’ well-being and providing a space where children and families are able to playfully connect in a stress free environment, enjoying the beautiful practice of yoga.
Lorianna is passionate about how yoga can affect change throughout the body and mind, having seen its benefits firsthand in her own life which inspired her to complete a 200-hour yoga certification in Power Flow, an additional certification in Unata-inspired Aerial Yoga and become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. Using playful elements, upbeat music and a good sense of humor, she creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere to explore and recall the natural freedom we experienced in ourselves as a child. Combining the strengthening/conditioning and stretching/restorative physical nature of the asanas and taking into consideration personal fitness levels, injuries or problem areas and goals, Lorianna’s simple back-to-basics approach aims to provide subtle adjustments and encouragement to help you create a solid (and playful) foundation for your yoga practice.
Mary Ann was born with a love for dance. She earned her BA in Human Communications & Dance from CSU, Fullerton. She began Greek dancing at 3 years old followed by choreography and performing to Vitals. Because of her love for learning she always yearned for more and that is when she discovered yoga. She was inspired by yoga philosophy and the union of body, mind & soul. The idea of fusing dance & yoga was intriguing and that is where her new journey began. She completed her 200-hour certification with Cloud Nine Yoga in 2012 and most recently completed her 300-hour certification with Bryce Yoga in Thailand. Mary Ann loves to combine dance and yoga in her classes as she believes nothing heals the body, mind and soul better than flowing to life's energy force, the breath.
Milissa began dancing at age 3, with a natural love for movement, rhythm, and dance. When she is not busy with her professional ballet career which has received many awards for her choreography, teaching dance or spending time with her sweet daughter, you can find her sharing her new found love of yoga. She received her 200-hour yoga certification with Yoga House Co. in 2017 and completed her 300-hour certification with Mark Stephens Yoga in 2018. Milissa's classes are the perfect concoction of dance and yoga, with creative, fun, choreographed sequencing! Milissa believes yoga offers the opportunity for inspiration, community, and self-reflection by opening up the possibility of connecting to what we already have, to who we already are and the options of what is yet to come.
Sheila discovered Kundalini yoga at a time in her life when she had lost her connection with herself and was overwhelmed with stress and worry. Amazed by the power of yoga, she committed to the studies of Kundalini yoga and became a Certified Kundalini yoga instructor. Sheila is committed to working with her students to expand their capacity. Expect to confront yourself physically, mentally and emotionally on the mat. Her motto: "Breathing, Meditation and a lot of Determination you can be will break through any block and encounter your true authentic self”.
Promita discovered yoga in her quest to become more connected to her Indian roots. She began her journey in 2007 and has been practicing yoga regularly since. She received her 200-hour yoga cerificate through YogaFit program in 2013. She was born and raised in San Jose, CA until the age of twelve, when her family moved to Kolkata, India. Living in India for seven years proved to be an eye opening and humbling experience and provided her with a deeper sense of appreciation and passion for her yoga practice. She then came back to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering at USC and has worked for several years in the oil and gas industry. Promita is grateful to provide students with the opportunity to feel empowered by their yoga practice.
Tiana discovered yoga in 2000 and has been practicing ever since. Her love for yoga drove her to deepen her practice by completing a 200-hour yoga certification with Core Power Yoga. In 2014, Tiana completed her 300-hour yoga certification (Tantric Hatha Vinyasa) with Zuna Yoga. Tiana is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) with Yoga Alliance. Yoga truly changed Tiana's life by the practice of pranayama (extension of the breath). Working in the world of finance brought major stress and anxiety to her life. Unusual weight gain, fatigue, and loss of breath control began to take over her well being. Tiana returned to her yoga mat and practiced simply breathing, cultivated the ability to become fully aware and present, and allowed the breath to navigate her through life's challenges, on and off the mat. This positive transformation of the body, mind, and spirit continuously inspires her in her practice and her teaching.
